Music

Looking for Sheet Music?

I like to play and write music whenever I get the chance. These are most of my finished compositions, or at least the ones I think are good enough to show other people. I use SONAR 8.5 Studio to arrange and produce my music. I also use a Yamaha S90 keyboard and an Akai EWI400S. I have also transcribed some piano pieces, which you can find on the sheet music page.

Click on a song title and it will magically transform into a media player and start playing. If you don't see a Play button icon in front of the titles, make sure JavaScript is enabled and try refreshing the page. Some browsers—especially mobile ones—may not support the media player, so if it still doesn't work, just click the song title or the "Download MP3" link.

I figure I should also explain a couple of these songs. Fantasy Dance is a fairly liberal arrangement of a piano song of the same name by Robert Schumann. The opening is a paraphrase of the original piano piece. Edelwitz is an arrangement of Edelweiss from The Sound of Music. "witz" is the German word for "joke". I think you'll get it if you listen to the whole piece.  The first half is kind-of a joke too, but it probably won't be obvious to those without musical training/knowledge.

Older Stuff

I've put some of my older songs up here too, but I don't have fancy media players for them. Instead, you can find them (and a lot of other stuff) in the site index.

Tell me what you think!

I've set up a feedback page so you can comment on my music and transcriptions.  I'd love to hear what you think!

I just upgraded to SONAR 8.5 Studio, and it is awesome. This is the first song I've completed using it. All the sounds here come from Cakewalk's Dimension Pro soft synth with a bit of reverb and equalization. Nothing too fancy in terms of production. I spent much more time on the arrangement and expression though. The song fluctuates between 5/4 and 3/4 time and major and minor keys.
Fantasy Dance is a fairly liberal arrangement of a piano song of the same name by Robert Schumann. The opening is a paraphrase of the original piano piece.  The ending sounds like Halo.  I had fun with my orchestral sounds with this one. :)
Edelwitz is an arrangement of Edelweiss from "The Sound of Music". "witz" is the German word for "joke". I think you'll get it if you listen to the whole piece.  The first half is kind-of a joke too, but it probably won't be obvious to those without musical training/knowledge. If you don't get the first half, it goes through about 4 different keys, 2 time signatures, and it's just about the sappiest thing ever.  If you don't get the second half, you either have no sense of humor, or you've never heard the original Edelweiss.
I seem to have lost the lilypond source for the full score. I also found a wrong note in the piano part, but since I don't have the lilypond file, I can't fix it. The wrong note is fixed in the piano version score.
